Staff members from the Covina Valley Historical Society join quarterly at the Foothill Curators' Meeting, with other
community museum curators and docents from all over the San Gabriel Valley
The meetings are held at various community museums throughought Southern Cal. It's a great way for local
curators and docents to exchange relevant artifacts, share ideas, and learn more about emerging practical museum management
techniques and technologies.

At the Museum...
Our volunteer staff is constantly trying to improve our museum and its collection. Please let us know before you
throw that great old item from Covina. Whether it's a postcard, picture, document, furnishing, tool, pottery or any
other imagineable type of Covinabilia, we would be very pleased to welcome your treasure as a tax-deductible contribution
to our non-profit Society.
The Firehouse Jail Museum is the repository for what has grown to be one of the finest collections of citrus artifacts
and documents found anywhere. We are committed to handling all of our materials responsibly.
As a non-profit organization, most of our work is generously done by volunteers. We need more of
these community heroes. Send an email to our volunteer coordinator and tell us about your special interests, skills,
and talents .

The CVHS Board is working to obtain historic status for the Firehouse and the Heritage
House. The City of Covina has a voluntary Historic Preservation Ordinance. We definitely feel that it is
about time to include these two buildings in the program.
If you live in an historic home and
would like more information about having it designated as an historic landmark, please contact Helen Merrick at 626-332-4148
or click here to send a message: mailto:cvhs@arbortender.com
