Covina's Early Pioneers

During the 1940's, Mary-Etta Broadwell wrote a column for the Covina Argus Citizen. Thanks to Lucy Wheeler's scrapbooks, the articles have been saved and can be viewed as a complete collection. Remember, that they were written over fifty years ago. Many of the old-timers who contributed to her column are no longer with us.  These and many other local writers' recollections are presented here to deepen understanding of how Covina began and grew.
